This geared clock mechanism is a clever and functional 3D print that uses a two-staged planetary gear system to correctly synchronize the hour and minute hands. The gears ensure the proper 1:12 ratio—so for every full rotation of the minute hand, the hour hand advances exactly one hour, just like a real clock.

The mechanism can be operated in two ways: simply move the minute hand directly with your finger, or, for a clearer view of the clock face, turn the grip on the backside of the clock to rotate the system smoothly.
